How this Tour started

It all started so innocently. Just a humorous take on a Bible passage, a giggle over a 'what if' situation, nothing serious. But then, I got a Commodore 64 and did a serious (read: boring) video production called 'The Bible in Time and Space' and I was hooked. I graduated to an Amiga 3000 and did a few videos. I also began doing a few webpages and found it an entirely pleasurable experience. Whirlwind Bible Tours began as a script for local cable broadcast but in a brainstorm, I realized that it would be a lot easier to produce as a website and would reach a wider audience to boot (not that I would actually boot many any of you). I grabbed a few graphics (I sure hope you don't want them back), converted them to Amiga formats using ImageFX for manipulation using DeluxePaintIV and DCTV, converted them back to JPEG and GIF files and voila. To reduce bandwidth and speed up access, if a pun could be done (hey! I'm a poet and I didn't realize I was doing it) using what I call table-graphics instead of JPEGs and GIFs, it was. Would you believe this entire site is smaller than a Meg? (Apologies to anyone named Meg. I didn't mean to draw attention to what is obviously a sensitive topic. Really.).

How To Print It Out

Feedback has been overwhelming from all the people wanting a hardcopy of the WhirlWind Bible Tour. Unfortunately, the graphics were all designed for a black background. If you don't mind a white background, I have designed a printable version of the Tour. It is big, so allow a minute or two for the graphics to load before you start printing. (Page breaks cutting stuff in half will be a problem until browsers include better print control.)

If you wish to print it all out keeping the black background and you have lots of toner/ink, download Canon WebRecord from www.ccsi.canon.com. I have used the demo version of the software with success. Basically, it will allow you to select a number of websites to print and it will organize it, put a table of contents on it, and then print it out, two columns to a page. The demo version allows you to do 5 or 6 print sessions. You need Win 95 8MB Ram, 8MB hard disk.

Geoff Roberts-Thomson, who is a new teacher of 'Community and Religious Education' at a fairly expensive school in Melbourne, Australia developed a quiz for his year 7 class (ages 12-13 yo). Check it out. Discovering the Bible.doc
