Articles of Faith

Section A - Statement of Major Doctrines

1. We believe that the Bible is the infallible Word and revelation of God, verbally & plenarily inspired and inerrant in its original manuscripts, and therefore our only authority in matters of faith and practice. 2 Timothy 3:16
2. We believe in the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ; that He is very God, by whom and for whom all things were created. John 1:1; Colossians 1:16
3. We believe in the Virgin Birth: that He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and is therefore God manifest in the flesh. Luke 1:30-35
4. We believe in salvation by Divine sacrifice: that the Son of God gave His life a ransom for many and bore our sins in His own body on the tree. Matthew 20:28; 1 Peter 2:24
5. We believe in the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ and in His bodily presence at the right hand of God as our Priest and Advocate. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 8:34; Hebrews 5:6; 1 John 2:1
6. We believe in the personality and deity of the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Trinity. John 16:7; Acts 5:3-4
7. We believe Christians should discover and use the task-oriented gift(s) given them by the Holy Spirit. (The miraculous gifts, due to their divisive nature, will not be used in our services, nor will proselytizing other believers to use these gifts be allowed.) 1 Corinthians 12-14
8. We believe in the universal depravity of mankind; therefore in the necessity of regeneration through the Holy Spirit of God and faith in Jesus Christ. Romans 3:9;7:18; Titus 3:4-7
9. We believe in the immersion of the believer in water as the only proper Biblical mode of baptism and the Communion of the Lord's Supper as a privilege peculiar only to those who are believers in Christ. Acts 8:35-39; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29
10. We believe that the New Testament order of a Gospel church is a body of baptized believers, organized, independent, self-governed and voluntarily associated together for the service of God. Acts 2:41,47; 1 Thessalonians 5:11
11. We believe in the great commission given by our Lord to His Church to evangelize the world and that this evangelization is the great mission of the Church. Matthew 28:19-20
12. We believe in the visible and imminent second coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to establish His worldwide Kingdom on the earth. Acts 1:11; 1 Corinthians 15:24; Revelation 20:1-6
13. We believe that believers &quotmust all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to what he hath done, whether it be good or bad" ( 2 Corinthians 5:10) and that unbelievers will &quotstand before God... and (be) judged according to their works" before being &quotcast into the lake of fire". Revelation 20:11-15; Romans 14:12
14. We believe in a Heaven of endless bliss for the righteous and in the conscious and endless punishment of the wicked. Matthew 25:46
