Jonathan & Amy Fabian

Biographical information:

Jonathan was born and grew up in Papua New Guinea. After returning to the US he completed schooling at Houghton College, where he met Amy. They were married in January of 1993 and proceeded to seek God's will in their lives.

With the death of Jonathan's father Edmund Fabian, in April 1993, Jonathan felt the Lord directing him to return to his homeland and the Nabak people. In 1994, the Fabians spent one year working among the 20,000 Nabak people in the Morobe Province of Papua New Guinea.

Jonathan and Amy are working in the area of literacy to prepare the Nabak people to read and write in their own language. They have also produced the first movie in the Nabak language. The movie includes the complete gospel of Luke and the first three chapters of Genesis. A 33-page biography of Jonathan's father Edmund, thousands of Bible story books, and Sunday school materials and distributed to the 50 plus Nabak villages.

The Fabians plan on committing to another four-year term in Papua New Guinea to complete the Nabak project. With the New Testament in the final stages of checking, Jonathan and Amy are eager to distribute God's Word to open hands of the Nabak people.

300 Million people are without God's Word.

The Word of God simply doesn't exist for an estimated 300 million people who speak hundreds of different languages.

Wycliffe missionaries like the Fabians are committed to the urgent task of translating God's Word into the languages of these people. But they can't do it alone and that's why your partnership is so important.
