KELSEY HIGHLIGHTS 2005

January 2005

    The Kelsey web site has a new look. Pictures of the changing of seasons were added as well as a new logo. We had the passing of two long time Kelsey supporters: Carrie Bartholomew and Anne Lindstadt.

March 2005

    Kelsey mourned the passing of Walter Teuber and Eileen Sotet.

April 2005

    The directors met to formulate plans for more re-construction at the community center. The parking lot will be leveled and the deck needs staining. We hope also to have installed a set of Bilco Doors over the entrance to the cellar door

May 2005

    The Kelsey Annual Meeting was held on May 14th. Besides the reconstruction projects. Plans were discussed to update the Kelsey Book, to include the changes in property owners since the book was first published 25 years ago. A Kelsey Community sign will erected along the driveway and it will be in memory of Walter Teuber.

June 2005

    Dirt was given to Kelsey for the parking lot by one of the new adjacent land owners. Everett leveled the dirt with his Kubota  and then quarry rumble was brought in and leveled with a dozer. The parking lot now has room for a good number of parking spaces. Fencing was placed along the east and south side of the parking lot and the fence near the handicap parking area was raised. The new flagpole was installed and the flag will be flown on holidays as well as other special times. Holes were dug for the Kelsey Community Center sign honoring Walter Teuber as well as one for the  911 address sign. 

July 2005

    The Kelsey Community Breakfast/Bake Sale was held at White Birch Airport on July 3rd. The weather was great and this made for an enjoyable day for the people that supported our community.

August 2005

     The new Kelsey Community Center sign was installed. The sign is in memory of Walter Teuber and will be dedicated at the Annual Harvest Dinner on Oct. 8th. A surprise birthday party was held at the community center for Everett Rhinebeck. He turned 70 on August 24th.

September. 2005

    The driveway leading up to the parking lot now has been blacktopped making for big improvement in looks as well as functionality. The 911 address sign has also been installed. There was another surprise birthday party at the community center on Sept. 3rd. This one was for Donald Derby, he turned 80 this years.

October 2005

    The Kelsey Annual Harvest Dinner was held on Oct. 8th. We also dedicated the new Kelsey Sign that was erected in memory of Walter Teuber. Stone was placed along both sides of our new blacktop driveway to preserve the edges of the blacktop.

December 2005

    The Annual Kelsey Christmas Party was held at the airport on Dec.3.
